Every once in a while in the Jewish tradition, along would come an especially gifted, insightful Rabbi. This teacher would have a new way to look at the law, a fresh interpretation of what God had said. As he taught his interpretation of Old Testament law he would gain followers that would take on his yoke. That is, his particular interpretation of the law.
Jesus was one of those Rabbis. When he taught his Sermon on the Mount he was not only teaching a new interpretation of the Old Testament law. He was teaching a whole new paradigm. The Old Testament had been all about doing. What you should and should not do. Jesus taught that it's all about what's going on inside. About who you are. Not just doing what we should do, but being who we should be. Join us as we journey through Jesus' Sermon On The Mount and discover who we're meant to BE.
